Anson Jones’ sound is united by her virtuosity and her exploration of novel soundscapes. Her path led to collaboration with Adrian Harpham of Modern Icon Recordings for her debut EP, A Way With Words. An artist in the studio, Harpham sets the perfect frame for Anson’s soulful and breezy vocal style. The lyrics and delivery are direct and intimate, stories of life that are easily our own, with a lush soundscape surrounding the vocalist to bring the stories on a deeper journey.
A Way With Words is a powerful introduction to the world of Anson Jones, and is set for global release on June 3rd on Modern Icon Recordings via Ropeadope.

About Anson Jones
Anson Jones is a New York City - based singer and musician whose music picks from different genres: her eclectic style takes influence from jazz, pop, rock, RnB, folk, and everything in between. Through all of it, an intimate voice and visually imaginative lyrics are at the center. Anson has won 6 Downbeat Magazine Student Music Awards, in both Jazz and Pop/Rock/Blues solo categories, plays at indie venues and showcases around New York, and has performed at jazz venues like the Litchfield Jazz Festival.
Anson Jones’ music doesn’t come from one place: it’s R&B, it’s singer-songwriter, it’s jazz, it’s rock. Every project has a new sound, but wherever she journeys, her songs are unified by the presence of her warm, sensitive, and powerful voice. From intimate acoustic songs to colorful fusion tracks, there is a deep well of emotion behind it all. The soulful richness of her lower range, her delicate, flute-like upper register, the powerhouse notes in between, her control of her instrument and her curious ear come together to create a totally new sound…
Anson is from New York City, but for now she’s a student at Princeton University studying a wild range of subjects - music, computer science, cognitive science, architecture.
