The Making Of “Five”:
The Sessions For This Recording Started After I Met Adrian Harpham At The Famed 55 Bar In Nyc. Adrian And I Struck Up A Conversation And By The End Of That Conversation I Knew I Wanted Him To Produce The Project I Was Planning. I Had Written A Batch Of Tunes In The Previous Year And Wanted To Record Them. We Agreed To Try One Song To See If There Was Any Musical Chemistry To Be Found. There Was.

The Recordings Took A While Because There Were Certain Musicians We Wanted To Use And Some Were Out On The Road. I Had Some Ideas About Musicians I Wanted To Use And Sometimes Adrian Would Suggest The Same Person. Then He Would Suggest Someone I Was Unfamiliar With Like Amp Fiddler, Falu Shah Or Gerald Menke. They All Came In And Added Their Own Personalities Which Brought These Tunes To Life. Bringing In Henry Butler And Leo Nocentelli Was Something I Could Never Have Imagined. It Was A Real Honor To Have These Iconic Players On These Recordings.

We Used A Few Different Studios In Manhattan And Brooklyn. Some Tracks Were Recorded In Detroit And Los Angeles.

Released July 26, 2019
